Flowspace has joined forces with Flexport to accelerate the shipment of products from China to the U.S. for ecommerce retailers and marketplace sellers.
With supply chains facing ongoing setbacks and slowdowns, Flexport has developed Flow Direct, a new less-than-container-load (LCL) ocean shipping product for online sellers that ship freight inventory from their factories and suppliers in China to Flowspace’s warehouses in the U.S.
Flow Direct seeks to reduce LCL transit times by up to 50% from the current industry standard of 45-55 days down to 18-25 days. This is made possible due to a priority ocean service that is able to bypass much of the congestion at major ports throughout the U.S.
These will be dedicated Flowspace containers which removes the need for any deconsolidation stages at the destination ports due to a single destination. This also allows the entire container to clear customs while in transit, another area causing delays in today’s environment. Flow Direct makes LCL shipments behave more like FCL, reducing costs and transit times.
The service is currently being offered from Shanghai ports (and surrounding areas) to Flowspace facilities in both the West Coast and East Coast of the U.S. with extensive expansion plans on the horizon.
“This collaboration between Flowspace and Flexport enables ecommerce brands and sellers to speed shipments and sidestep congestion and delays at the port, ultimately leading to improved inventory flow and expedited availability of goods,” said Chase Pickett, Business Development Lead, Flexport.
Together with Flexport, Flowspace is proud to offer this end-to-end supply chain solution for brands. With highly competitive rates available for shipments as small as 1 cubic meter, Flowspace will keep your inventory flowing and your shelves stocked.
